The executive director of the Illinois Tollway has announced his resignation to take a job for a company contracted to do $21.3 million in tollway work this year. Brian McPartlin said in a statement Thursday that he’ll leave the agency October 24th. McPartlin is taking a vice president post at Chicago-based McDonough Associates, an engineering and architectural firm. The firm’s Web site says a significant portion of its work has been in design and construction of the Chicago-area’s expressway and tollway network. State records show McDonough has received $32.9 million from the tollway from 2005 to 2007 and is contracted for $21.3 million this year. McPartlin oversaw expansion of the tollway and increased use of the I-PASS electronic toll collection system.  AP ______ Copyright 2008 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
