“TINA –The Tina Turner Musical” is coming to Chicago for a one-week run this summer, and tickets are on sale.
The show will play at the Cadillac Palace Theatre from June 3 to June 8, part of an all-new North American tour that began last fall. Ticket prices range from $40 to $140, with a limited number of premium seats available. Built around Tina Turner’s life and music, the musical tells the story of her rise to global stardom. It’s a story of survival and strength, packed with the songs that made her a legend.
The show was written by Pulitzer Prize winner and Tony nominee Katori Hall, with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins. Phyllida Lloyd directs it and features choreography by Anthony van Laast. Crossroads Live North America produces the new tour.
Turner’s music and story are the focus, but the production also highlights the barriers she broke—racism, sexism, ageism—and how she overcame them to become one of the most successful artists of all time.
She won 12 Grammy Awards and sold more concert tickets than any other solo performer in history. Though she was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Ike Turner in 1991, she wasn’t recognized for her solo work until her nomination in 2021.
The musical opened in London in 2018, then hit Broadway in 2019, earning 12 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical. Since then, it has played to packed houses across Europe, Australia, and North America.
