Last night The NIGHT 2022 Tour with R&B heavy hitters Joe, Anthony Hamilton, and Maxwell lit up Chicago’s Wintrust Arena for a packed evening of R&B and Neo-Soul. Black-owned concert promotion and event production company, the Black Promoters Collective, brought the tour to Chicago.
Headlined by multi-platinum Grammy Award-winning artist, Maxwell, The NIGHT 2022 tour thrilled a packed house at the arena. R&B artist, Joe opened the evening with his signature soulful style belting out hits like “I Wanna Know,” “All the Things,” “More and More” and “Love Scene.” He serenaded the audience and had them salivating as he sang soulful ballads reminiscent of a time when R&B songs passionately spoke about love and relationships.
Anthony Hamilton wowed the crowd next in all white backed by an incredible band and background singers. Hamilton had the crowd on their feet, as he energetically entertained with classics like “Charlene,” “The Point of it All,” “Can’t Let Go” and stepper’s favorite, “The Best of Me.” Hamilton perfectly melds classic soulful sounds with hints of Blues and Gospel that reflect his North Carolina roots. The entire band was part of the performance, dancing and engaging with the enthusiastic audience. Hamilton gave the crowd what they wanted and more.
Multi-platinum artist Maxwell closed out the show. With his signature melodic and seductive voice, his songs continue to mesmerize audiences. It is hard to believe it has been 26 years since Maxwell debuted with his classic “Urban Hang Suite” album. Maxwell did not disappoint, giving fans songs from all of his five studio albums. Audiences screamed with delight and sang along to hits like “Sumthin Sumthin,” “Ascension,” “Pretty Wings,” “Fortunate,” “Bad Habits” and Lifetime. Maxwell seductively grooved while singing his latest single “Off” from his forthcoming album. If “Off” is any indication of the vibe of Maxwell’s highly anticipated sixth album, listeners are in for a special treat.
With a 100-Watt smile and plenty of grace and humility, Maxwell thanked his fans for their support over his career, at times visibly moved by the love and admiration fans happily doted upon him. Maxwell is a performer that gives his all on stage and proves why his shows consistently sell out.
The NIGHT 2022 tour is just one of many tours promoted by The Black Promoters Collective.
