Foundation Unites Chicago Eateries to Drive Research Funding During Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Celebrating its 12th year, The Lynn Sage Foundation’s IN GOOD TASTE campaign will bring together more than 200 of Chicago’s top restaurants and bars to raise awareness and support for local breast cancer research during the month of October. From Tuesday,-Thursday, Oct. 1-31, participating eateries will donate proceeds from select dishes, desserts and drinks to help find a cure for breast cancer. Patrons can also participate by adding a donation directly to their bill.
“For 12 years, the Chicago restaurant community has generously embraced fundraising for local breast cancer research,” explains Laura Sage, Co-Founder and CEO of The Lynn Sage Foundation. “Chicagoans can show their support by dining out during the month of October at one of our many restaurant partners. By ordering one of the delicious IN GOOD TASTE ‘specials’ or simply adding a $1 to your bill, you can make a big difference in the lives of all men and women diagnosed with breast cancer.”
What began in 2008 with 40 restaurants has developed into a celebrated, annual campaign that Chicagoan’s eagerly anticipate. Pink specials can be found throughout the city and suburbs at partners including; Bad Hunter, Coda Di Volpe, Federales, Gibsons Italia, Le Colonial, Piccolo Sogno, Ron of Japan, Tuco and Blondie, Wow Bao and many more. Campaign partners extend across all price points, cuisines and locations, even to locations in Minnesota and Ohio.
Like years past, all proceeds from IN GOOD TASTE will benefit The Lynn Sage Scholars Program which funds some of the country’s most promising researchers in the field of breast cancer. To date, The Lynn Sage Foundation has invested more than $1.7 million to support pioneering, young researchers at Northwestern University and Rush University.
“Our ability to fund breakthroughs in breast cancer treatment and prevention is dependent upon the success of fundraising campaigns such as IN GOOD TASTE” said Sage. “We provide two-year awards to doctors early in their career. Our focus is on innovative, novel research that will improve outcomes for breast cancer patients everywhere.”
