The Link Up, is a pop-up resource center, providing digital sign up services and product giveaways. Their motto is “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”. They believe in a holistic, long-term, approach to aiding communities. The Link Up understands the disconnection between communities of color and technology, especially in the wake of COVID-19, and want to forego this notion and create a space where individuals can flourish.
The Link Up brings together 30 volunteers from in and around the city to provide digital voter registration, election judge sign up and essential product giveaways. Giveaways include produce boxes, personal hygiene products, and household cleaning products, until supplies last.
