CHICAGO- With the Cubbies returning home down 0-2 to the Queens borough Mets, the mood amongst myself and the few true Cubs fans I manifest with is still extremely high. Sunday night we found out that this year’s hero Jake Arietta isn’t invincible, Daniel Murphy is on fire and the NL East Division winners are serious. Before last weekend, the last time we saw an Arietta loss was a no hitter by Cole Hamels to the Phillies.

The Cubs basically need a home sweep and first in line to keep hope alive is pitcher Kyle Hendricks. He gave up 3 homeruns in a 6-3 win against the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 2 of the NLDS. A repeat of that and this series is all but history! The Mets will counter with 14 game winner Jacob DeGrom. The Cubs swept the Mets 7-0 in the regular season and are 2-0 versus DeGrom but that goes out the window in the postseason.
