Zimmerman Juror’s Book Deal Dashed By Determined Twitter User

Juror B37 was ready to profit from the murder of Trayvon Martin, but one motivated "sistah" on social media had something to say about that. Less than 48 hours after helping wanna-be cop George Zimmerman get away with murder, the juror inked a book deal. Well, Twitter user MoreAndAgain[1] found the Twitter handle of the agent[2] who helped to make the deal happen. Obviously, the Twitter campaign worked. And Juror 37B had this to say: “The potential book was always intended to be a respectful observation of the trial from my and my husband’s perspectives solely and it was to be an observation that our ‘system’ of justice can get so complicated that it creates a conflict with our ‘spirit’ of justice,” she said in a statement[3]. “Now that I am returned to my family and to society in general, I have realized that the best direction for me to go is away from writing any sort of book and return instead to my life as it was before I was called to sit on this jury.” MoreAndMore’s social media p ...

Zimmerman Juror: His ‘Heart Was In The Right Place…Just Went Terribly Wrong’ [VIDEO]

MIAMI (AP) — A juror in the George Zimmerman trial said Monday that the actions of the neighborhood watch volunteer and Trayvon Martin both led to the teenager’s fatal shooting last year, but that Zimmerman didn’t actually break the law. The woman known as Juror B37 told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that Zimmerman made some poor decisions leading up to the shooting, but that Martin wasn’t innocent either. “I think both were responsible for the situation they had gotten themselves into,” said the juror, who is planning to write a book about the trial. “I think they both could have walked away.” The juror said Sanford Police Detective Chris Serino made a big impression on her, because he would have been accustomed to dealing with murders and similar cases. He would have known how to spot a liar, and yet he testified that he believed Zimmerman, the juror said. Legal analysts agreed that Serino’s testimony was a blow to the state’s case. The ...

Civil Rights Case Against Zimmerman To Be Difficult

WASHINGTON — Calls for the Justice Department to look in to the shooting death of Trayvon Martin reverberated as soon as George Zimmerman (pictured) was acquitted of state charges in a Florida courtroom, but it may be even tougher to mount a federal case against Zimmerman. The department says it’s reviewing evidence to determine whether criminal civil rights charges are warranted, but legal experts see major barriers to a federal prosecution – including the burden of proving that Zimmerman, the former neighborhood watch leader, was motivated by racial animosity – and say Justice officials would likely be saddled with some of the same challenges that complicated the unsuccessful state case. “The Justice Department would face significant challenges in bringing a federal civil rights case against Mr. Zimmerman,” said Alan Vinegrad, the former U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York. ...

Judge Rejects Zimmerman’s Request To Show Jury Trayvon’s Cell Phone Contents

On Wednesday morning, Judge Debra Nelson ruled that the defense team for George Zimmerman (pictured) would not be allowed to introduce as evidence the text messages and pictures from Trayvon Martin’s cell phone[2] or introduce the computer animation created by a firm that the defense hired. Judge Nelson and both lawyers went late in to the night for a hearing on July 9, 2013, discussing the submission of evidence. In May, the Zimmerman defense team leaked pictures and text messages allegedly ...

Judge Allows Zimmerman Defense To Present Trayvon’s Toxicology Report

In a hearing in the murder trial against George Zimmerman (pictured right), the defense will be allowed to introduce in to evidence the toxicology report from Trayvon Martin. This toxicology report will reportedly show that Martin had low levels of marijuana in his system. To many observers of the trial, this development seems unfair since Zimmerman was never tested for any drugs when he was detained by police. What hasn’t been publicized in the media, though — and is yet to be mentioned in Zimmerman’s trial — is that according to the paramedics’ report, Zimmerman was on prescription drug, Temazepam, when he shot and killed Trayvon. According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine[2], the drug is also known to cause “aggressiveness” and “hallucinations,” among other problematic symptoms. From the U.S. Library of Medicine:[3] You should know that your mental health may change in unexpected ways while you are taking this medication. It is hard to tell if ...
