FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — An individual has been apprehended by police after he reportedly shot four people near a residence hall at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff early Friday morning.
According to the university’s website and Twitter, one person had died after the shooting, which occurred just after 1 a.m. near Mountain View Hall. The building houses most of the school’s fraternities and sororities.
The three surviving victims are being treated at Flagstaff Medical Center. University officials said on Twitter that they would be sharing more information about the shooting at 6 a.m. Mountain time on Friday.
This mass shooting happens just eight days after a gunman shot and killed 10 people at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, a horrific tragedy that re-energized the debate about stricter gun laws.
