Supervisor Calvin Jordan Lauds Impressive Outlook For The Fiscally Sound Southland Township

Calvin Jordan, Rich Township Supervisor, was recently joined by the Rich Township Board of Trustees, residents, state officials, local mayors, and other local officials as the Clerk of the Township presented the official fiscal and operational report.

“Twenty twenty-three represented our township’s most prosperous and thriving operations and administrative year. We achieved all our goals and targets all while maintaining our fiscal integrity. I am more than confident that we have now entered 2024 with an even more impressive strategy for growth and stability,” says Supervisor Jordan.

Rich Township Clerk Sugar Arlene Al-Amin presented a wide-ranging report covering the entire scope of the township, including finance, operational, and administrative forecasts. The Clerk was precise in her specific reporting of various departments, future projects, and the township’s firm mission.

Supervisor Jordan spoke passionately about the plans for a new facility in Matteson that will offer a wide array of services geared toward providing seniors with a one-stop shopping experience that will enhance healthy lifestyles.

“Rich Township Supervisor, Clerk Al-Amin, and board of Trustees continue to be good stewards over the tax dollars which they preside over. The food pantry is regarded as best in class within the southland,” says Matteson Mayor Sheila Chalmers-Currin.

Illinois State Representative Debbie Meyers-Martin adds, “Rich Township exemplifies excellence and compassion in all its endeavors. But moreover, the township gives justification and cause to why Township government is relevant and critical in the state of Illinois. I applaud the Supervisor and the Clerk for breaking down to the residents every facet of the township.”

Over the past two years, the township has been bestowed two well-deserving honors. In 2022, the Township Officials of Illinois (TOI) presented the government with the prestigious Township of the Year award, and in 2023, TOI presented Calvin Jordan with the Supervisor of the Year Award.

“We love serving our residents. Honesty and integrity are our mission, our focus, and our driving force,” says Rich Township Trustee Jackie Small.

“I am grateful, honored, and fortunate to be part of an outstanding team of elected officials whose primary focus are the residents of the township. Collectively, we are in the business of helping and serving the people who are in dire need of our services, “says Rich Township Clerk Sugar Arlene Al-Amin.
