Super Bowl Champion Isaiah Stanback Advocates for Renewed Funding for Type 1 Diabetes Research

NFL Super Bowl Champion Isaiah Stanback joined Emmy® and Tony® nominated actor Victor Garber, NASCAR Driver Ryan Reed, Marvel’s New Warriors actor Derek Theler, American Ninja Warrior Christina Martin, Wizards of Waverly Place actress Jennifer Stone, and other leading voices in the Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) community, including more than 160 children with the disease, in Washington to urge Congress to renew the Special Diabetes Program.

Testifying before the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging were: Garber, who was diagnosed with T1D at age 11; JDRF President and CEO Aaron J. Kowalski, Ph.D.;, two Children’s Congress delegates, Ruby Anderson, a 9-year-old from Yarmouth, Maine, and Adriana Richard, a 16-year-old from Milton, Pa.; and Director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases at NIH, Griffin P. Rodgers, M.D., MACP.
