Several waves of severe weather with lightning and wind gusts are expected to hit the state Friday. The National Weather Service says large hail was reported near Rockford and Belvidere. And a funnel cloud was spotted on radar a mile south of Lake in the Hills. Flight delays at O’Hare International Airport are averaging one hour and more than 50 flights have been canceled. Midway is seeing shorter delays and no cancellations. ComEd reports 5,800 customers without electricity, mostly in the Rockford area.
