Sterling Bay’s Keiana Barrett Headlines ISU DEI Event

Illinois State alumna Keiana Barrett, Director of Diversity & Strategic Development at Sterling Bay, will speak to students on Wednesday, Feb 23. The event is part of the ISU College of Business’ 43rd annual Business Week being held Feb. 21-24 and is entitled: Coming in Hot: Ensuring Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is Actionable and Sustainable. Business Week offers engaging, authentic, and professional opportunities that enable students to interact closely with alumni, employers and industry thought leaders as they develop essential soft skills and understandings required for success.

The students will have a chance to engage with Ms. Barrett at her keynote address and interactive conversation that follows. She will offer a chance for traditionally underrepresented students at ISU to meet with a successful woman of color, who is also a former Redbird.

ISU College of Business is one of the Top 2% of business schools in the world that are AACSB accredited as an institution and in the specialized field of accounting.

Keiana Barrett, a proud Chicago native, has over 25 years of government affairs, community engagement and diversity, inclusion, and equity experience. She enjoys a proven track record of raising over $1 million for campaigns and organizations, developing communications strategies and policies that are currently utilized by press secretaries on Capitol Hill, managing communications crises, along with designing and implementing revolutionary equity practices. Keiana is also the ISU former Black Student Union President.
