CARBONDALE, Ill.— While Southern Illinois University has complied with a federal subpoena from prosecutors investigating ousted Gov. Rod Blagojevich, two other schools haven’t. University of Illinois spokesman Tom Hardy says his school is still looking through documents and won’t meet Thursday’s deadline. Northern Illinois University says it has been given until Aug. 15 to comply. U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald last month asked the universities for correspondence about students from the indicted governor. SIU spokesman David Gross says his university sent its results to Fitzgerald on Wednesday. The subpoena followed Chicago Tribune stories reporting that the U of I admitted politically connected applicants over more qualified students. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press.
