Southside woman killed in drive-by

Chicago police say the woman victim of a drive-by shooting on the city’s South Side was rushed to the hospital by her fiancee, but still died a short time later.

Officers say 20-year-old Ishma Stewart was driving late Sunday night when another vehicle pulled alongside hers and a gunman fired multiple times, striking her in the chest.

Officer Laura Kubiak says Stewart’s fiancee, who was riding with her, got behind the wheel and drove four blocks to Provident Hospital of Cook County, where Stewart was pronounced dead.

Police say the motive for the shooting was under investigation and no one was in custody. (AP)
