Ronnie Lewis, who became interim mayor of Dolton after Mayor William Shaw’s death last year, defeated Riley Rogers in the Democratic primary election last Tuesday. Lewis, a trustee of south suburban village for the last 17 years and a retired Chicago Public Schools assistant principal and teacher, won with more than 55 percent of the vote. Shaw, the village’s longtime mayor, died of cancer in December.
