The last three days proved to be deadly for seven men on the South Side. The men, ages 17 to 36 years, were fatally shot in unrelated incidents from Friday to Sunday in the Auburn-Gresham, Englewood and Grand Crossing communities, and near the Altgeld Gardens housing complex. Odero Hillard, 17, died of multiple gunshot wounds Sunday in the 7100 block of South Paulina Street. An argument with another man turned fatal when the unidentified man shot Hillard in the face. The shooting may be gang-related, police said. Cory Hatter, 17, was gunned down Saturday in the 1500 block of West 69th Street. A 17-year-old boy was charged with Hatter’s murder. Mark Mitchell, 23, was found fatally shot Friday in a parking lot in the 13000 block of South Drexel Avenue. Shavel Monegan, 29, was shot to death Saturday in the 7000 block of South Michigan Avenue. Dexter Baylock, 31, was felled by gun violence Friday in the 1500 block of West 79th Street after an argument with another man turned deadly. Ricky Grant, 36, was fatally shot Friday while sitting in a vehicle in the 2500 block of West 63rd Street. Andrew Mitchell, 48, was found Saturday unresponsive on a sidewalk in the 9800 block of South Genoa Avenue. He was shot in the neck.
