Ron Watkins, one of the foremost authorities on international trade and Black economic development, an activist and a mentor to hundreds of African American entrepreneurs, succumbed to multiple myeloma cancer August 15, following a brief, hard-fought battle. He was the acclaimed author of the best-selling book, Doing Business in Africa: Myths and Realities and most recently Cooperative Economics, A Global Vision for Black Economic Empowerment.
