On Saturday (April 19), Rich Township Supervisor Calvin Jordan and Olympia Fields Park District hosted an unforgettable Easter Celebration that brought together families from across the south suburban area. Hundreds of children gathered at 20712 Western Avenue to enjoy an afternoon filled with laughter, endless fun, and activities for the entire family.

This family-focused event featured an egg hunt, arts and crafts, interactive games, music, and an engaging dance session with the Easter Bunny. Families also enjoyed a complimentary lunch, capturing springtime memories with festive photo ops and colorful decorations. Supervisor Jordan credits the impact of purposeful partnership with creating great opportunities for memorable experiences.

“We are thrilled to see such a strong turnout from our community. Our goal was to provide a joyful, safe space for children and families to come together, and I’m proud to say we delivered. With great partnership and purposeful collaboration, we can create great memories for our Southland kids,” said Rich Township Supervisor Calvin Jordan.

State Representative Debbie Meyers-Martin attended the event and shared her appreciation for the township’s commitment to community engagement. “This celebration is a true reflection of the spirit of Rich Township — inclusive, vibrant, and family-centered. It’s heartwarming to see so many children smiling, laughing, and enjoying themselves in a positive environment.”

Rich Township Trustee Jacquelyn “Jackie” Small also highlighted the collaborative effort it took to bring the event to life. “Events like this don’t happen without passion and teamwork. It’s always inspiring to see our community come together to create such meaningful experiences for our young people.”

The Easter Celebration was supported by a dedicated team of organizers, Pamela Al-Amin and Jesus Vargas. Rich Township thanks them for ensuring every detail was delivered with children in mind to have a magical day for the entire family.
