Rich Township High School District 227 recently received accreditation as an International Baccalaureate World School for freshman and sophomore students. The accreditation is for Rich Township’s Middle Years Program.
“Being part of the global IB community is a recognition of the school’s commitment to providing a high-quality education that meets international standards. The fact that a verification team of IB specialists was impressed by the curriculum, teachers, and students speaks volumes about the quality of education offered at Rich Township High School District 227,” according to a statement from Rich Township.
The collaborative efforts of MYP teachers and IB specialists have resulted in the school joining a prestigious global community comprising 5,000 schools across 150 countries.
It’s the second academic distinction the school has earned this month. In early November, Rich Township announced that 40% of its total student body achieved honor roll status in the academic year’s first quarter.
