Members of the Pilgrim Church of God in Christ recently celebrated the birthday of their pastor, Nathaniel Robinson, who turned 98 in May.
In 2005, he was confirmed as one of the oldest active pastors in the Church Of God in Christ Brotherhood nationwide.
The Rev. Robinson has been an active force in the community for some time and is currently the Administrative Assistant at the Northern Illinois Jurisdiction within the denomination.
Members of his ministry describe him as “always praying, teaching, giving and rebuking–all in love.” At his birthday celebration, the Rev. Robinson was said to have danced as the “Holy Spirit moved through” him, glad to have reached his 98th birthday. His personal motto is, “I may be hopping but I am not stopping.”
On June 28, Robinson also celebrated 53 years as founder of Pilgrim. He is the father of two children and was married for 62 years.
