Retreat to offer ‘stimulus’ for women of color

The Women of Color Foundation will host its 2nd Biennial Personal and Professional Development “Stimulus” Retreat on April 26 at Hotel Allegro, 171 W. Randolph St.

The Women of Color Foundation will host its 2nd Biennial Personal and Professional Development “Stimulus” Retreat on April 26 at Hotel Allegro, 171 W. Randolph St.

The two-day conference –– Connections, Community and Career 2009 –– will focus on many issues facing women as they steer themselves through the troubled economy, and help facilitate the education, networking and mentoring of women and girls.

“In today’s economy, anyone’s position could be eliminated at any time,” said Alexandria Johnson Boone, founder and chair of the foundation.

A bevy of workshops will be available, including:

  • Dealing with Debt and Foreclosure
  • Strategies for Survival in Today’s Economy, Life After Downsizing
  • Choosing Your Next Career Move Wisely
  • Thinking about Starting Your Own Business? Then Find Out if You have What it Takes
  • Community Building and Volunteerism
  • Our Roles and Responsibilities as Women Leaders
