Bobbi Kristina Brown is said to have used illicit drugs on the morning before she was found unconscious and submerged face-down in her bathtub on Jan. 31, the media is reporting.
People magazine and RadarOnline.com both report that Brown, 21, was a regular user of heroin, cocaine and Xanax prior to her incident last month.
“How thin she had gotten is an indicator,” one source told People. “This girl was trying hard, but she didn’t have any support system. She was still dealing with a lot of grief over her mother.”
As Atlanta Daily World has reported previously, Brown has been hospitalized since the Jan. 31 episode in her suburban Atlanta townhouse and has been on life support ever since. Doctors, who put Bobby Brown’s and Whitney Houston’s daughter into a medically induced coma almost immediately, removed her breathing tube on Feb. 17 and performed a tracheotomy, which opens up a small hole in her throat in order for to breathe more easily and prevent an infection from the breathing tube that had been attached to her mouth.
It is being reported that the tracheotomy may prevent her from speaking ever again. It has also been reported that Bobbi Kristina is, in fact, brain dead, but her father has denied those reports.
Brown reportedly began abusing drugs at age 17 and was even photographed allegedly snorting cocaine and taking hits of marijuana from a bong. A former friend allegedly leaked those photos to the National Enquirer in order to force Bobbi Kristina to seek help.
Bobbi Kristina’s drug abuse would be surprising to no one, if the reports are true, because her famous parents struggled with addiction for years and ultimately ended her mother’s life in Beverly Hills on the eve of the Grammys.
