CHICAGO (AP) — Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn says he didn’t ask his prisons chief to leave in light of a botched early release program. But now that the director has resigned, Quinn said Thursday he’ll pick a replacement soon and "we will march on." Michael Randle is taking a job in Ohio running a community correctional facility for a not-for-profit agency. The job pays less than half what he makes in Illinois. Quinn says salary isn’t always the top concern when people decide what to do with their lives. The Chicago Democrat blamed Randle for botching an early release of prison inmates after The Associated Press revealed the program’s existence last winter.
