Gov. Pat Quinn is keeping up the heat about the massive budget cuts that he says will be made if an income tax increase isn’t enacted. Quinn will visit a training center for adults with developmental disabilities Friday morning to talk about the impact of cuts that could decimate human services programs in the state. It’s the latest in a series of visits Quinn has made to such agencies to highlight the cuts. This latest stop comes as Quinn prepares to be in Springfield next week where lawmakers will be going back to work. Quinn wants lawmakers to approve an income tax increase to avoid $9.2 billion in spending cuts. So far there has not been enough support among lawmakers to pass the tax increase. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
