DUPO, Ill. — Prosecutors in St. Clair County are reviewing the case of a 13-year-old boy killed in an accident involving a dump truck’s load of gravel. Authorities say the truck’s driver had pulled over near Dupo on Saturday to adjust the load and accepted seventh-grader Ryan Hennemann’s offer to help. The Cahokia boy was killed when the truck’s hydraulic system apparently malfunctioned and caused the truck bed to slip onto him. The truck’s driver was arrested for driving on a suspended license, and there’s an unspecified out-of-state warrant for his arrest. But investigators say he’s been released from custody, after California declined to extradite him. Ryan’s funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Braun Colonial Funeral Home in Cahokia. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
