Federal officials say a radar communications problem at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport is causing delays for some arriving flights. Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Tony Molinaro says a radar problem involving a tower at O’Hare occurred at about 11 a.m. Friday. Officials switched to a secondary radar system in suburban Tinley Park while technicians worked to resolve the glitch. Molinaro says the problem was fixed around noon. It’s unclear how many delays were caused by the radar glitch. Chicago’s Department of Aviation didn’t immediately return a message. While using the secondary radar system, fewer flights were allowed to arrive at O’Hare each hour. Officials say 72 planes were arriving each hour instead of 96. The FAA is investigating the cause.
