This year, the police have a warning for those “unauthorized” vendors. Shut it down, or get a ticket. Police said there will be a designated area in Washington Park for all licensed vendors. None are permitted to sell anything along the parade route. “It hurts crowd control,” said Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis said. For the unauthorized vendors who will have hot dogs, chips, soda, water, among other items for sale, they will be given a warning. “We will ask them to close the stand,” Cmdr. Jenessa Lewis said.
