O’FALLON, Ill. — Authorities in the southwestern Illinois community of O’Fallon are investigating the case of an armed man shot dead by police at an apartment where a woman’s body was later found. Illinois State Police say officers dispatched to a reported burglary in progress Monday night shot and killed the armed man when he met them at the door. Authorities haven’t released additional details, including the possible relationship between the man and the woman whose body was found inside.
