A Chicago police officer sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder Thursday during a confrontation with a man on the Northwest Side. At about 10:10 p.m., a man confronted officers near Belden and Kedzie Avenues and opened fire, striking one of the officers. Responding officers shot the suspect, police said. The officer is listed in stable condition. The suspect is in police custody. His condition is unknown. A weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.
