CHICAGO (AP) — The great-uncle of a 5-year-old boy who was accidentally shot and killed while playing with his twin brother says the two boys were getting ready for the first day of kindergarten when the gun went off. Bruce Prince says the boys were the best of friends and were most likely just sharing the weapon when it went off Monday night. Jonathan Jackson was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died of a gunshot wound to his torso. Prince says the other boy does not understand what happened, and that the boy thinks his brother will be getting out of the hospital soon. Police say the boys were in their home in the Lawndale neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side when the shooting happened. Police say the investigation into the shooting is continuing.
