One of Chicago’s Black power couples, Donna and Spencer Leak, Jr. hosted their annual ‘summer-end’ bashes at their beautiful home in the South Suburbs. With the theme, “Release” for the invite-only affair, they were the perfect hosts with an attendee list of Chicago’s movers and shakers which featured great food, cocktails and live entertainment. Kicking off the party with a beautiful display of Leak’s collection of vintage cars in the front yard as attendees arrived greeted by signature Sangria bar, they were warmed up by the sounds of DJ Mark Fulla Flava. Gradually, the party moved to the back of the spacious home where people were seated at tables displaying purple and white balloons displaying “High World”.
The father of two, explained the familiar story of how his daughter was a victim of bullying and she chose to pen a beautiful song that was later produced and released as a single on Apple Music/ iTunes. “High World” is sung by Emma Sophia Leak with sincerity and truth of rising above the hurt and pain. In solidarity, balloons were released into the sky as a testament of supporting our youth as well as downloading the song. R&B singer/songwriter, Terisa Griffin kept the party going with her dynamic voice and jaw-dropping vocals. No doubt, the House version of “Wonderful” is a floor-stopper as folks jammed the dance floor and eventually showing off their best “Proud Mary” dance steps with Griffin leading the “Revival of Soul”. Chosen Few DJ, Alan King brought the party to a climax with non-stop Deep House favorites that had everyone on their feet.
Kudos to the Leaks for another successful and fun-filled event!
