On Thursday, December 1, 2016 Kim Foxx, the first African American woman was sworn in as the Cook County State’s Attorney. The ceremony was held at the Harold Washington Library. On the rooftop of the city’s largest library, Cook County Chief Judge Tim Evans swore in the former Deputy Chief of Staff to the Cook County Board President, Toni Preckwinkle stood present with her husband and two daughters in front of an audience of 300 attendees.
