CHICAGO–History was made today as Cook County Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans swore in Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court, Dorothy Brown for her fifth term. At 7:00am in his office, Clerk Brown was joined by her family as Judge Evans kicked off the day with his first official swearing-in.

Later that morning, a formal inaugural celebration was held in the East lobbby of the Richard J. Daley Center that packed with well-wishers.

WVON and Host of the Perri Small Show, Perri Small was the Mistress of Ceremonies as she introduced key faith and business leaders that included Rev. Dr. Marshall Hatch of New Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Janette Wilson of Rainbow PUSH Coalition, Elder Jeffrey D. Hodges of King of Glory Tabernacle, Ms. Emma Lozano of Centro Sin Fronteras and Gospel recording artist, Jonathan Reynolds. Remarks from Polish National Alliance President, Frank Spula and Clerk Brown’s husband–Dr. Benton Cook, III described Brown’s hard work and connection to working class citizens, without the support of the Cook County Democratic Party.

Sporting her signature favorite color, red–the Louisiana native looked elegant as she took the stage to the Oscar-winning song “Glory” and addressed loyal supporters and staff on her commitment to continue serving the residents of Cook County.
