Person struck, killed by Amtrak train

BRAIDWOOD, Ill. — A person is dead after being struck by an Amtrak train about 20 miles south of Joliet.

Amtrak spokesman Cliff Cole says the unidentified male was struck on the tracks around 11:30 p.m. Sunday by a train going from St. Louis to Chicago.

Cole says there were 105 passengers on the train at the time. He says no passengers or crew members were injured.

The train was delayed until about 3:30 a.m. before continuing on to Chicago.
