Patti LaBelle is an unstoppable force in the entertainment industry — having been in the industry for more than half a century. But she’s has no plans on slowing down anytime soon.
LaBelle has a lot going on with her endeavors — including her product Good Life Sauces. Recently, she appeared on “HuffPost Live” to discuss these endeavors.
LaBelle is known not just for her amazing powerhouse voice and music. She’s known for how she puts it down in the kitchen — even cooking for other music greats.
“I used to cook for them [The Rolling Stones]; [and] I used to cook for Elton John, before he was Elton John,” she said.
Nevertheless, she is a diabetic. Therefore, her food choices and preparing food for her love ones are restricted. But she did offer advice to other diabetics. She said, “you can cheat, but within moderation. You can’t cheat every day.”
She’s released successful cookbooks, but her success in food doesn’t end there. She is working on a new show for the Food Network — sharing her cooking talents with an audience.
“That’s so good for my spirit, to cook; it’s therapy for me and I love doing it. I love to see a smile on everyone’s face; I get joy from that,” she said.
Outside of singing and cooking, LaBelle is still working! She had a guest-starring role on the popular Horror series, “American Horror Story: Freak Show.”
“It was fun; I knew I was gonna die,” she said with a laugh. “[I told them to] make it as gruesome as you like, I’m gonna die anyway.”
She wants her fans to get use to seeing her act again. “I intend to keep on doing it; I don’t have any reason to stop,” she said.
