ATLANTA — LaToya Luckett’s face was aglow like soft dinner candles on the set of the upcoming TV One sitcom “Here We Go Again.” Even though Atlanta Daily World was there for just a few short hours, you could instantly discern that she seemed to be in a good space both professionally and personally.
First, she has procured a role in a TV show that enables the former Destiny’s Child and “Single Ladies” star to stretch artistically. Secondly, she is flanked on the set by the dynamic and super-charismatic Wendy Raquel Robinson (“The Steve Harvey Show,” “The Game”), whose innate acting skills and quick wit makes you think she was born on a movie set. Also, she is being guided by the prolific and award-winning director Eric Dean Seaton, whose portfolio of directing gigs is as thick as a bank vault and includes stints for NBC, Warner Bros., Disney, BET and Nickelodeon.
It doesn’t hurt that Seaton is a Buckeye State native (Cleveland) and graduated from THE
Ohio State University.
The on-set chemistry between Luckett and Robinson was evident right away, even though Robinson revealed that she had never met the platinum singer before. This will come in handy as two actresses tackle grown men/women issues in endearing and comedic ways.
“Here We Go Again” is about the Walkers, who work diligently to break an intergenerational curse, something urbanites know all about, and it spawns all types of drama and comedy.
