The Frankfort home belonged to 87-year-old Luella Reils and her 89-year-old husband Clyde. The home exploded at 5:40 a.m. last Sept. 6.
Experts agree that a gas explosion destroyed the home.
But Nicor says an internal investigation didn’t turn up any evidence that the gas company’s system was responsible. And no leaks could be found.
The Illinois Commerce Commission could have a report on the explosion done by Sept. 21.
The explosion left 11 homes uninhabitable and 36 others damaged. Frankfort is about 25 miles southwest of Chicago.
