Inauguration Images–Whether you’re heading to our nation’s capitol, Washington, D.C., for the historic festivities surrounding the Inauguration of the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack H. Obama, or staying right here in Chicago next week, there’ll be a plethora of activities going on in both cities to satisfy your celebratory soul. Look for Teesee in D.C. I wouldn’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience for the world!

But if the Windy City is your destination of celebration, you just might want to join Janet and Robert Conner for “Celebrating the Dream Come True” at their Marmon Grand Ballroom, 2230 S. Michigan Ave., on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. honoring President and Mrs. Obama (Michelle), new hope for the future and the life and work of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Donation to the formal-attire event is $50 ($60 at the door). Watch the official inaugural video presentation on super-sized screens, dance to music by DJ Sam Chatman, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and champagne toasts, participate in photo opportunities and go home with special commemorative giveaways. Same evening, 7 p.m., get your swerve on at the Chicago Inaugural Ball honoring the Obamas and Vice President and Mrs. Joe Biden. Volunteers and supporters will celebrate in the Skyline Ballroom of McCormick Place, sharing the theme of the ceremonies in Washington: “Renewing American’s Promise.” The program will include dancing, champagne toasts, hors d’oeuvres and multimedia presentations on large screens. The ballroom entrance is between King Dr. and Prairie Ave. at 332 E. 22nd St. (Cermak Rd.) The featured Band: Chicago Catz. Earlier on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Inner City Entertainment Theaters, 210 W. 87th St., will present a free screening of the Obama inauguration live on its big screens, hosted by ICE president, Alicia Starks. Participate in a post-film discussion and shop the ICE marketplace for Obama merchandise (books, posters, t-shirts, etc.) until 2 p.m. “We’re committed to making as many screens available as needed for this historic event,” Starks says. Vendors are encouraged to participate at no charge. ICE will provide a table, chairs and linen.
