MAYWOOD, Ill. — Fire officials estimate a morning fire at a suburban Chicago auto shop may have caused $1 million in damage. No one was injured in the Sunday morning fire at J&E Auto shop in Maywood. Dispatchers received a 911 call around 11:20 a.m. Maywood Fire Department spokesman Laighton Scott says the fire started in a tire shop and spread to an adjacent building. He says at least eight cars were destroyed in the blaze. He says the estimated $1 million in damage includes the two buildings and all contents. Authorities have not determined a cause.
