NEW YORK (AP) — Tennis star Serena Williams has the best chance to take home some hardware from Nickelodeon’s first-ever Kids’ Choice Sports awards show, due to be telecast live on July 17 from Los Angeles.
The categories range from serious to fun, and Williams was nominated as best female athlete, along with best cannon for her powerful serves, queen of swag for her sense of style and superstar siblings with sister Venus.
Basketball star Skylar Diggins was nominated Wednesday for favorite newcomer, clutch player of the year and queen of swag.
A popularity poll and expert panel selected the nominees. Starting June 12, Nick’s youthful audience will be able to begin casting votes online.
