NEXTLEVEL HEALTH ANNOUNCES SECOND ANNUAL FESTIVAL

The August 24th Festival Will Offer Free Health Screenings, Free Haircuts, Free Flu Shots, and Exciting Activities and Giveaways for Chicagoans of All Ages

NextLevel Health Partners, Inc., a Medicaid managed care company in Illinois, announced today it will host its second annual Complete Health Festival on Saturday, Aug. 24. The free, family-friendly, health festival in Chicago’s Hamilton Park will feature services by local behavioral, mental health and primary care providers and will highlight social service organizations throughout the community. This community festival will bring greater awareness to the concept of #CompleteHealth and highlight holistic wellness education and resources that exist in the Englewood community.

“Last year’s first annual Complete Health Festival was an incredible success in bringing community members together for a fun, free and educational festival for residents in underserved communities to focus on their complete health,” said Dr. Cheryl Whitaker, CEO NextLevel Health. “’Health refers to more than the physical aspects of health; Complete Health means paying ample attention to other important components of wellness, such as access to housing, food, employment, and transportation. NextLevel Health is excited to host these services and resources in the Englewood community for the second year in a row.”

The Complete Health Festival will be held on August 24 at Hamilton Park, 513 W. 72nd St. from 11 am to 3 pm. The free festival, hosted by radio personality Tone Kapone, will feature free health screenings, free haircuts, live music and entertainment by ConSoul and Left Jones, family friendly activities, giveaways and food. At this year’s NextLevel Health Complete Health Festival, the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office will be on-site providing identification cards and license plate stickers to residents throughout the community and Walgreen’s will be providing a free flu clinic where families can receive their flu shots.

NextLevel Health understands that complex socio-economic factors can prevent individuals from making healthcare a priority, and it aims to provide accessible solutions to these barriers. These everyday obstacles, combined with a wariness of doctors, can be serious impediments to the utilization of preventative care; thus, hospital and emergency room visits are short-term solutions to acute health problems rather than routine appointments for primary or preventive care. By showcasing local organizations that provide resources and support in Englewood, The Complete Health Festival promotes sustainable access to holistic health and wellness services, while providing free, family-friendly activities that unite the community in the name of health.

“We are dedicated to creating a paradigm shift in how healthcare is viewed and engaged with in our communities,” explained Dr. Dianna Grant, Chief Medical Officer. “NextLevel Health is committed to working with our community partners to ensure we are able to provide quality, affordable and accessible care to our members.”

NextLevel Health’s 2019 Complete Health Festival is made possible by support from Access Community Health Network, Beloved Community Family Wellness Center, St. Bernard Hospital, MobileCare Chicago, Salvation Army: Fatherhood in Action, SGA Youth and Family Services, South Side Pediatric Asthma Center, University of Chicago Howard Brown Health Center, UI Mile Square Health Cetner, iHeart Radio, Planned Parenthood, the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office, Toys For Tots, Walgreens, and the YWCA.
