As the summer weather heats up, the action in the Negro League Academy also is doing the same.

In the Peanut Division, the Crawfords continued to show the way by pounding out a 9- 6 victory per the Eagles and following that up with a 24-10 thumping of the ABCs. In Minor League play, the first place Zulus suffered their fist loss of the season with a 5- 4 setback to the Black Cats.

Meanwhile, in other Minor League play, the Monarchs are still looking for their fist win of then season after a 11-1 loss to the Yankees. Also, the defending Minor Division champion Lookouts battled it out with the Barons in an outstanding contest in Rainbow Beach Park.

The Barons led for the majority of the game, but the Lookouts came roaring back to record a 15-14 victory.

“We were just itching to play,” said Lookout coach Larry Lemons. In Major Division action, the Young Bucks held off the Black Yankees, 8-6 while in the Cool Papa Bell Division, Lindblom Park and the Black Senators battled to a 3-3 tie.
