Singer/songwriter Ne-Yo stopped by Chicago as a part of the Moet Rose’ Lounge, an exclusive seven-city series, to celebrate his upcoming his upcoming fourth album, Libra Scale.
The private party took place at Le Passage where guests danced, mingled, and ordered Moet as a songs from the Ne-Yo’s new album pumped out of the sound system.
In the last five years, Ne-Yo has amassed a substantial body of work. He began to gain buzz as a songwriter when he penned the hit single, "Let Me Love You" for singer Mario. 2006 saw his debut album, In My Own Words, which featured the love song, "So Sick". The singer’s 2007 sophomore release, Because of You garnered success with the disc’s title track. Not one for letting opportunities pass, in between albums, Ne-Yo was penning hit songs for Beyonce’, Rihanna, Usher, and Leona Lewis.
So what does a successful singer-songwriter do to expand his brand? He creates the concept album, Libra Scale. The album depicts the tale of a superhero named Jerome, who is granted super powers, with only one caveat: He must never fall in love. As a part of the project, Ne-Yo has teamed with former Marvel president Stan Lee.
The new album’s singles, "Champagne Life", "Beautiful Monster", and "One in a Million" will be animated.
Libra Scale will hit stores November 22.
