Many students from King College Prep attended various colleges in the Midwest earlier this week to get a first-hand feel of what college life is about.

Many students from King College Prep attended various colleges in the Midwest earlier this week to get a first-hand feel of what college life is about.
During “King Goes to College Day,” Purdue University, Michigan State University and Notre Dame University, to name a few, all had “new students” on their rosters. I was a Notre Dame student for the day and learned quite a bit.
It’s one of those opportunities that can completely open someone’s eyes to the requirements needed for admittance to some of the best colleges and universities.
King has maintained a theme of “We Are King. We Are College-Bound” focusing on not only getting students into college but giving them the tools to be successful in college.
Oftentimes my generation categorizes college as unattainable and repeats the popular phrase “college isn’t the place for me.”
Our teachers stress how important college is, not only for job opportunities, but the gained outlook on life. Just to be able to interact with the parts and people of the world, that without school would be near impossible to take advantage of is a huge incentive to me.
I hope other schools can adapt the King Goes To College concept for the overall benefit of our generation in the long run. A higher education should be a priority, not a guess.
