Protect the people you govern. The President is both the head of the United States of America and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. The President is responsible for the execution and enforcement of the laws created by Congress.
Trump, why are you signing an executive order targeting social media companies? With all that is going on, you are upset that Twitter has fact-checked two of your tweets as containing “potentially misleading misinformation?”
Americans would be smart to fact check your words themselves. In the last thirty days alone, you have “recommended” injecting disinfectant into our lungs to treat Covid-19. Your statement caused a spike in cases of exposure to disinfectants, including Lysol at the New York City’s poison control center. You also “suggested” the use of UV radiation inside our bodies to combat Covid-19 resulting in your own health department having to say do not attempt because this was extremely dangerous.
Most Americans have long spent the $1,200 stimulus checks. Americans are facing evictions, food insecurities, and no hopeful job prospects. You took an oath on January 20, 2017. You said …”I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States and will to the best of my ability….” Take this time to try and heal this nation and not create tweets that include statements like “when looting starts, the shooting starts.”
Please put down your phone and help the American people, Mr. President.
