Morgan State sets relay mark at Aggie Relays

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Morgan State Lady Bears’ track and field team had two individual winners and a relay team that also captured first, while setting a new meet record at the Aggie Relays, hosted by North Carolina A&T at Aggie Stadium.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Morgan State Lady Bears’ track and field team had two individual winners and a relay team that also captured first, while setting a new meet record at the Aggie Relays, hosted by North Carolina A&T at Aggie Stadium.

Leitawsha Bronson captured the shot put with a winning toss of 48-00.75 meters and Tia Williams placed second with a throw of 41-11.25 meters. Allison Randall took second in the discus with a throw of 44.98 meters and also placed fourth in the hammer throw (47.25m). Candace Shirley placed fifth in the hammer throw (44.43m).

Jamia Robinson claimed Morgan State’s other event title as she ran a time of 55.51 to win the 400 meter dash. Tanisha Kendrick placed second in the 400 with a time of 55.95.

The 4 x 800 meter relay team won the event in a time of 9:22.62 to set an Aggie Relay meet record, breaking the mark of 9:43.02, which was previously set by East Carolina in 2006.
