Voters who supported Donald Trump are continuing to learn the potential consequences of electing him for a second term and their stories are going viral, per Buzzfeed.

In the aftermath of the 2024 presidential election, social media users are sharing stories of regret and doubt as they learn the plans for Trump’s second term.

Their stories have revived a 2015 meme that perfectly describes how many Trump supporters may have voted to inflict harm on themselves.

“‘I never thought leopards would eat MY face,’ sobs woman who voted for the Leopards Eating People’s Faces Party,” the 2015 adage goes.

One South Dakota farmer, who voted for Trump and “employs many undocumented workers,” said he hopes the president-elect won’t carry out mass deportations as promised.

“If they round them up within 2 days, we will not have food…” the farmer remarked, per the Republicans Against Trump social media account.

Another “Trump fan” is seemingly realizing that the president-elect’s proximity to tech billionaire Elon Musk is a “bad idea” for the normal American business owner. On Reddit, one conservative asked social media users for help with a good “counter-argument” to give those who point out how much Trump’s proposed tariffs will hurt the economy.

A social media user wrote on X that they were “really starting to regret” their vote because they weren’t expecting Trump to be “anti-cancer funding.” There’s also a Trump voter who shared on social media that they were annoyed the president-elect had likely never “actually read a book or studied politics/constitution in his life.”

It’s apparent that Trump supporters are continuing to rethink their votes as plans for his second term emerge.
