First Lady Michelle Obama said she thinks America “is ready” for a female president.
“Yes, I think the country is ready for it. It’s just a question of who’s the best person out there,” Obama told Parade magazine in an interview published Thursday.
Obama refused to name names, and when asked about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — often named as a potential 2016 Democratic presidential nominee — Obama wouldn’t speculate.
“[Clinton] hasn’t announced anything, so I’m certainly not going to get ahead of her,” Obama said.
Obama did say with certainty that she would never run for president herself.
