Hampton University junior Francena McCorory was named on June 8 as the Southeast Region Women’s Track Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
McCorory was named First Team All- MEAC in the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash after taking the 200 in 23.23 and the 400 in a season-best 51.75 at the MEAC Championships on May 2. She also led the 4×100-meter relay team (45.16) and the 4×200-meter relay team (1:35.99) to titles at the season-opening Raleigh Relays, before winning the 200-meter dash at the Morgan State Legacy Meet in April in 24.09.
