Media partner theJasmineBRAND.com has learned exclusively that Uncle Sam isn’t about to end its fight with MC Hammer (real name Stanley Kirk Burrell), filing docs challenging his appeal of a close to 800k judgement over unpaid taxes.
The artist, who gained fame in the 1980′s, was sued by the federal government back in 2012.
They claimed he failed to pay them 800k in back taxes for the years 1996 and 1997.
The court sided with the Feds and awarded them a judgement against Hammer in the amount of $798,033.48. Hammer then filed an appeal of the judgement, claiming it was unfair he had to pay the amount + penalties when he ALREADY paid it as part of his bankruptcy.
